Why I Focus on OCD
OCD is one of the most misunderstood and undertreated mental health conditions. Many people with OCD wait 14-17 years from symptom onset before receiving appropriate treatment (International OCD Foundation). That gap matters, and it's one of the reasons I've made OCD treatment the center of my practice.
I'm trained in both Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the two most effective evidence-based treatments for OCD. I-CBT addresses the reasoning errors that make obsessive thoughts feel real, while ERP builds tolerance for uncertainty and breaks the compulsion cycle. I tailor the approach to each client, and many people see meaningful improvement within 12-20 sessions.
OCD can present in many forms: contamination, harm, relationship doubts, scrupulosity, "just right" feelings, and more. Regardless of the theme, the underlying treatment principles are the same, and I have experience with all presentations.
Additional Therapeutic Approaches
Beyond OCD, I treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other conditions using approaches backed by research and adapted to each person I work with.
Evidence-Based Methods
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) for OCD
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
I work from a strengths-based perspective, recognizing and building upon the inherent capabilities and resources each person brings to therapy.
"I value authenticity in the therapeutic relationship, presenting as my genuine self during sessions."
In our work together, I use compassion, skill, and humor when appropriate to create a therapeutic environment where growth and healing can flourish.
Philosophy & Approach
"I view therapy as a space for deepening our self-understanding, developing new skills, and gaining insights into ongoing challenges. I am grateful for this work and I look forward to meeting you."
Core Goals
My primary goal is to help clients calm the inner-critic and voice that can feel unhelpful and overbearing. Together, we work to foster authenticity, build confidence, and gain clarity in your life.
What to Expect
We'll set clear goals from the start, and you'll leave each session with something concrete: a skill, a new way of looking at things, or a specific plan for the week ahead.
